Seven years ago, I started a Care & Nursing Agency business after almost 2 decades of working in the private and public sectors in the UK and abroad. It was my experience working at the Cardiac Critical Care Unit of Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Trust which inspired me to associate with the healthcare sector which provides an invaluable service and makes life better for everyone involved.
Today the Healthcare Agency I started 7 years ago has grown, in size and strength, employing hundreds of staff and have supplied over a million hours to our Clients who are Care Homes and Nursing Homes. We have been able to do this only because of the confidence our Clients and staff have in our ability to deliver. Our commitment to quality, reliability and customer service is what drives us and sustains us. While most other Agencies either closed or struggled during the COVID-19 crisis, we remained strong and continued to support our Clients 100%. In fact, several Homes told us that the service we provided during those difficult weeks and months saved them from collapsing. But of course, our Nursing Agency accounts for less than 0.1% of all Healthcare Agency Staff supplied in the UK and there is a huge potential-a potential which is way beyond the grasp of a single traditional Healthcare Agency.
The concept of reach24 was born out of a watershed moment about 3 years ago when I was seriously pondering how the business could further grow and serve the whole country. The fact that every single person today uses smartphones; availability of good quality, affordable internet; the ease and wide use of mobile apps, cloud computing, AI and machine learning made me ponder how we can use technology to make flexible working easier and available to everyone and help businesses to find quality resources cost-effectively. This would not only make the Agency working rewarding and exciting for Nurses and Health Care Assistants but also to our Clients.
So, began our quest to build a hybrid Healthcare platform using the power of technology and leveraging our strength and knowledge of running a traditional Nursing Agency. Of course, building this platform was a huge challenge. I had to draw on decades of my experience and 7 years of running a successful Nursing Agency to make sure we build exactly what we wanted. We built and re-built the software several times. Made numerous changes. Challenging our limits, reinventing ourselves, and even sacrificing a lot of things we hold precious-like family time. reach24 is on a mission to revolutionise the modern-day concept of work and bring benefits to every person who wants to balance work and life. We want to make sure our Clients get the quality, reliability, continuity, and the support they deserve without breaking the bank.
I know this is a revolutionary step. That is why we want to ensure we do this right. As the market for flexible working is huge, reach24 has an eye towards the future. Our future growth, we know, will depend on the strength of the platform we took so hard to build.
